The Alchemy Custom Weaponry Prime Elite Carry is the Commander-size version of the deluxe Prime Elite 1911, chambered in .45 ACP. It has a 4.25-inch crowned barrel and a Stan Chen magwell.
Alchemy Custom Weaponry is a division of Cabot Guns in Indiana. Cabot bought gunsmith Robert Schauland's company to bring his expertise in house, and Alchemy's pistols carry that traditional pistolsmithing approach. The Prime Elite Carry is the Commander-size version of the Prime Elite, Alchemy's deluxe 1911.
It's offered as a size option on the Prime Elite, which comes in full-size 5-inch Government or 4.25-inch Commander form. This is the Commander option in its base configuration.
It's chambered in .45 ACP, with 9mm available. The barrel is flush cut and crowned, and the standard finish is blued with polished flats. Like the full-size Prime Elite, it gets the Stan Chen one-piece extended magwell and Alchemy's carry comfort checkering with smooth transitions.
The standard grips are checkered wood, and the base sights pair a gold bead front with Alchemy's fixed rear. The hammer is a Delta style, the thumb safety is right-handed, and the trigger is medium length. Two magazines come standard.
As with the rest of Alchemy's line, you can add a lot. Finishes range from DLC to full chrome, and grip options include figured walnut, ebony, holly, ironwood and more. An ambidextrous safety, different triggers and a red dot mount are available too.
The fit and finish come from 30 years of experience. If you want the Prime Elite's deluxe features in a size that's easier to carry, the Prime Elite Carry is the one to choose. It's a traditional gunsmith-built 1911 that's still practical for daily wear.
