Alchemy Custom Weaponry is a division of Cabot Guns in Indiana. Cabot bought gunsmith Robert Schauland's company to bring his expertise in house, and Alchemy's pistols carry that traditional pistolsmithing approach. The Prime Carry takes the features of the 5-inch Prime and puts them in a Commander-size package.
This is the base configuration. It has a 4.25-inch barrel and is chambered in .45 ACP, with 9mm offered as an option. The shorter slide makes it easier to carry while keeping a full grip for control. The standard finish is blued with polished flats.
Alchemy gives the Prime Carry its exclusive comfort carry checkering and a high cut, which lets your hand ride high on the frame for better recoil control. The checkering is meant to grip without being harsh against your side when you carry it all day.
Checkered wood grips come standard, and Alchemy offers a long list of upgrades, from figured walnut and ebony to American holly and ironwood. Sights, triggers and safeties can be changed too. You can choose white dot, tritium, fiber optic or gold bead fronts, with fixed or Novak rears, and add an ambidextrous safety or a red dot mount.
The base pistol ships with two magazines. The Commander size speaks for itself. It's a proven carry format that's been around for decades.
