Description
The Prototype SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Honeycomb is a SIG Sauer Mastershop design study created for the IWA Show 2018, as confirmed by the accompanying factory letter. Rather than a production model, it was developed as an exploration of form, structure, and machining within the P226 X-Five platform.
Its defining feature is the distinctive honeycomb slide geometry, presented in a silver-tone finish and paired with a sculpted frame and richly grained wooden grips. The overall design highlights the contrast between modern mechanical styling and traditional materials, with close attention to detail throughout.
Built on the P226 X-Five platform and chambered in 9mm, this prototype reflects the design-forward approach of the SIG Sauer Mastershop while retaining the familiar format of the X-Five series. Included documentation identifies it as a design study created to explore slide structure and manufacturing ideas.
