Description
This Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver is chambered in .45 Colt and dated to 1970. It features a 4¾-inch barrel, a blade front sight, and extensive floral scroll engraving covering approximately 75% of the surface over a punch-dot background.
Gold-inlaid bands accent the rear of the cylinder and the muzzle end of the barrel. The backstrap is further detailed with three gold-inlaid musical notes and a vertical “GHOST RIDER” inscription, finished with an additional gold note.
The engraving was executed by D.W. Harris, who trained under Weldon Bledsoe. The revolver was refinished at the time of engraving and is described in the source as retaining 98% of its high-polish black/blue finish, with a minor mark near the muzzle end of the ejector rod housing. The grips are described as being in superb condition with natural age lines.
A distinctive engraved Colt SAA with notable gold inlay details, this piece brings together classic Single Action Army styling and highly detailed decorative work.
