G45

The Glock G45 is a compact crossover pistol introduced by Glock in 2018, combining the full-size grip frame of the Glock 17 with the shorter, compact slide of the Glock 19 to create a configuration that offers some of the ergonomic and capacity advantages of a full-size pistol in a package with slightly improved concealability. Chambered in 9mm Parabellum with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds when using the included full-size Glock 17 magazines, the G45 is designed to appeal to users who prioritize grip length—and the associated shooting control and magazine capacity—while accepting the practical trade-offs of the compact slide.

The crossover configuration has been popularized by the observation that grip length is the primary driver of printing and concealability challenges for concealed carriers, while slide length makes a more modest contribution to overall concealability. By pairing the compact slide with the full-size grip, the G45 allows users to carry a high-capacity pistol with improved ergonomics compared to the smaller Glock 19 while sacrificing only the modest amount of ballistic performance associated with the Glock 19’s 4.02-inch barrel versus the Glock 17’s 4.49-inch barrel.

The G45 is offered in Glock’s nDLC (nano Diamond-Like Carbon) finish, which provides excellent corrosion and wear resistance, and features the Gen5 improvements introduced across Glock’s current production line—an improved barrel with the Glock Marksman Barrel designation, a flared magazine well for faster reloads, and a revised trigger mechanism with improved characteristics. The front slide serrations added on Gen5 models allow press-checks and chamber confirmation without repositioning the firing hand.

For law enforcement, duty, and serious defensive use, the G45’s combination of full-size capacity and control with compact-slide dimensions represents a thoughtful engineering response to the real-world requirements of armed professionals and informed concealed carriers.
