Browning Arms Company is synonymous with innovation, and for good reason: the company’s legacy is inseparable from that of John Moses Browning, arguably the most prolific and influential firearms designer in history. Founded in Ogden, Utah, and now headquartered in Morgan, Utah, Browning has been responsible for introducing many of the most important firearms designs of the modern era, including the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), the M1911 pistol, the M2 .50-caliber machine gun, and a vast array of shotguns and hunting rifles that remain in production today.
John Browning’s partnership with major manufacturers such as Winchester, Colt, Remington, and Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Belgium allowed his designs to reach a worldwide audience during his lifetime. After his death in 1926, Browning Arms continued to license and manufacture his designs, primarily through FN, which remains a parent company today. The relationship between Browning and FN has produced some of the finest sporting and hunting firearms available anywhere.
The Browning product line is anchored by iconic models like the Browning Hi-Power pistol, a 9mm handgun whose design influenced virtually every subsequent semi-automatic pistol made; the Browning A5 shotgun, a revolutionary autoloading design that remained in production for decades; and the Browning X-Bolt rifle series, which is widely regarded as one of the most accurate factory bolt-action hunting rifles available. The Citori over-and-under shotgun has been a staple of competitive clay shooting for generations.
Browning also produces a wide range of outdoor lifestyle products, including knives, clothing, and accessories, reinforcing its identity as a comprehensive outdoors brand. For hunters, competitive shooters, and collectors, the Browning name carries an unmatched heritage of mechanical genius and enduring quality.
