Description
This Prototype U.S. RIA M15 General Officers Pistol is chambered in .45 ACP and reflects the design language of the U.S. military General Officer sidearm tradition within the Rock Island Arsenal M15 platform.
It features a matte black finish, a purposeful compact profile, and slide markings reading “General Officers Pistol” in gold script. Checkered brown grip panels with a U.S. insignia medallion add a distinctive visual element consistent with the model’s presentation-oriented styling.
Built on the familiar 1911 pattern, this pistol incorporates a single-action trigger system, checkered front strap, extended beavertail grip safety, rowel-style commander hammer, and a polished trigger. The shorter barrel and slide configuration contribute to its compact overall form while retaining the presence of a .45 ACP service-style pistol.
As a prototype example, it represents a developmental iteration of the M15 General Officer program. The Rock Island Arsenal association and M15 designation place it within the modern continuation of a long-recognized General Officer pistol concept rooted in the 1911 platform.
