Mauser Parabellum 29/70 Display Prototype

A Mauser-modified Parabellum prototype built from a Swiss 06/29 pattern pistol and chambered in .30 Parabellum (7.65mm). Offered in its Mauser-Interarms display case with magazine, takedown tool, cleaning rod, and period handwritten German annotations.

Description

The Mauser Parabellum 29/70 Display Prototype reflects Mauser’s post-war effort to reintroduce the Parabellum to the commercial market. Built from an original Swiss 06/29 pattern pistol and later modified by Mauser, it represents an early developmental step toward the eventual 29/70 production series. These display-group pistols were prepared as presentation pieces for evaluation rather than standard retail sale.

Chambered in .30 Parabellum (7.65mm), this example retains the core features of the Swiss 06/29 pattern along with Mauser commercial details. It has a 120mm barrel, the classic toggle-lock system, strawed small parts, rust-blued major components, commercial Mauser banner markings, and Eagle/N proofing.

The pistol is housed in its Mauser-Interarms display case with fitted Styrofoam insert and includes a Mauser-marked magazine, takedown tool, and cleaning rod. Period handwritten German annotations are present on the exterior box and interior insert, adding useful period documentation to the presentation set.

According to the source description, the pistol remains in exceptional prototype condition, with factory finish largely intact, minimal edge wear, a bright and sharp barrel, crisp walnut grip checkering, and a structurally sound display case and insert.
