Description
This cased pair of Colt Single Action Army revolvers is a First Bankers commemorative set factory engraved by Ben Shostle. Built as a matched presentation pair and accompanied by period documentation, the set reflects a coordinated project produced through Colt’s Custom Gun Shop in the mid-1980s.
One revolver is chambered in .45 Colt and the other in .44-40 Winchester. The engraving is deep-cut and flowing, with traditional scrollwork that complements the lines of the Single Action Army. Matching engraved motifs continue onto the cylinders, accented by gold band details against a blued finish.
Both revolvers wear fitted walnut grips with Colt medallions, giving the set a warm contrast to the dark metal finish. The pair is housed in original oak presentation cases marked by caliber.
Also included is factory-related paperwork and correspondence from The First Bankers outlining the development of the commissioned commemorative run and the collaboration with Colt and Ben Shostle. As presented, this is a thoughtfully assembled matched Colt Single Action Army set intended to be kept together and appreciated as a unified pair.
Condition is described in the source material as excellent, with strong finishes, crisp engraving, and overall collector-oriented presentation.
