Description
A remarkable six-revolver set of 3rd Generation Colt Frontier Six Shooter Single Action Army revolvers, arranged as three consecutively numbered pairs. Each revolver is chambered in .44-40 and fitted with a 4 3/4 inch round barrel, bringing consistency across the full presentation while allowing each pair its own distinct finish and visual character.
The set includes two revolvers in Colt Mirror-Brite blue, two in silver, and two in gold. All feature black powder-style frames, hand-beveled individually numbered cylinders, and traditional blade front and frame groove rear sights. The back straps are marked with the numbers “1” and “2,” executed in gold inlay or engraving, and the engraving is attributed in the source material to Colt Master Engraver George Spring. Fleur-de-lis checkered grips complete the classic Colt profile.
This group is documented in Don Wilkerson’s The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1976–1986, and accompanied by factory letters referenced in the source material. The revolvers were shipped to Don Wilkerson’s Single Action Shop in March 1985. Original Colt markings are present.
Each revolver comes with its original box, manuals, and literature, and the collection is housed in a custom hardwood presentation case made for the set.
